Previous editions of the Fate Festival

was the year of innovation. This edition had four important appointments:

  •    The artist Acaymo S. Cuesta presented his site-specific work, during the town mural tour.
  •    The first screening in Piazza Giorgio La Pira of the short film Super Pasquale, shot during fall by the young directors of the Fate Cinema workshop;
  •    The free workshop “Poetic Bot – Do you think a computer can write a poem?”, arranged at the Pro-Loco organization headquarter, for everyone from 12 to 18 years old;
  •    Two special screenings: Popoff by Domingo de Luis, entirely shot in San Potito Sannitico and winner of many international awards, and Oceano by Antonino De Lellis, shot during his stay at the Art Center La Regenta.

For the first time, the location chosen for the activities was the Centro Polifunzionale per lo Sviluppo del Territorio, near the ex Gezoov area. Our prestigious guests were: Giuseppe Gaeta, headmaster of the Academy of Fine Arts of Naples; Olga Scotto di Vettimo from the same Academy; Alejandro Vitaubet, headmaster of the Art Center La Regenta; Ricardo Suarez, delegate of the open-air Museum Los Llanes De Aridane.

was the year of the children festival. The program was organized especially for children: there were reading, music and game activities with eight artists hosted in San Potito Sannitico. The aim was to encourage young people to develop shared creativity. The foreign guests were: Luxor and Juss Justina from Argentina, Hosh from Spain; from Chile Matu and Mono Gonzales who came for the second time in our town. Vito Romanazzi from Italy (Apulia region) created a sculpture using recycled and local material; Pablo Perez and Lia Ateca from the Canary Islands, who organized a group exhibition with all the children. Ivan Martino created a small adventure park for children only using natural materials, like wood or ropes.

Every activity had the garden as main theme: from the Rural Design workshop for interstices and fragments of landscape, to the Garden Games; from the biodiversity workshops to the Garden Music in the buildings of the historical town center; from LunGrabbe theatre, with the Dramaturgy of the Art Landscape, to the San Potito Sannitico flower and vegetables exhibition. There were also many activities related to cinema and Public Arts. Every day it was possible to enjoy or to take part in the artistic productions and to meet the filmmakers who shot a short film in and about our town in just 7 days. The artists hosted were: Nespoon from Poland, Cactus&Maria from Italy, Boamistura from Spain, Mariela Arjas from Argentina, Bifido from Italy, Hyuro from Argentina and Mono Gonzales from Chile.

The festival became a travelling one, visiting 12 towns around Caserta, offering a mix of art, shows, tourism and culture. In July, the historical town center of San Potito Sannitico hosted different musicians, from jazz to Afro-American music.

was the year of tales. The protagonists of the festival, called La notte delle Fate, were comics, street artists and a lot of magic.

was the year of public performances. Theatre companies, musicals and comedies took place in the streets of the town. During the festival, painters created a village of colours with their instant works of art.

The trio was composed by Peppe Servillo, born in Caserta and founder, singer and songwriter of the Avion Travel group; Javier Edgardo Girotto, born in Cordoba, who started studying and playing sax at the age of 10; Natalio Luis Mangalavite, founder and leader of the AIRES TANGO group: his music is a mix of tango and jazz, characterized by improvisation, writing and arrangements. The Latin American traditional music connected and mixed with European sounds, creating an emotional and evocative music show, not to be missed!

The goal of the workshop was to promote the interpretation and creation of an animation film in an educational context. The course had theoretical and practical lessons, in order to stimulate the imaginations of the participants through different techniques, such as decoupage, pixilation or modelling clay.
